What is BD Railway Info?

BD Railway Info (bdrailwayinfo.org) is an independent, non-official reference website I built and maintain for Bangladesh Railway (বাংলাদেশ রেলওয়ে) passengers. This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Bangladesh Railway or the Government of Bangladesh. It is a privately maintained informational portal that I built because I believe good public transport information should be accessible, fast, and easy to use for every Bangladeshi.

The site provides free access to intercity and mail train schedules, seat class guides, fare charts, station information, Dhaka Metro Rail details, live SMS tracking instructions, and railway news — all in one place, in both English and Bengali.

My Experience with Bangladesh Railway (আমার রেলওয়ে অভিজ্ঞতা)

Growing up in Bangladesh, the railway has been a constant part of my life. I have used Bangladesh Railway trains for family visits, travel to university, business trips, and tourism across nearly every major corridor the network serves.

Over the past five-plus years I have personally travelled on — and studied — the Dhaka–Chittagong, Dhaka–Sylhet, Dhaka–Rajshahi, Dhaka–Khulna, and Dhaka–Rangpur corridors. I have experienced the difference between Snigdha (AC), Shovan Chair, and AC Berth first-hand. I have navigated the SMS tracking service, waited on platforms, and dealt with the real-world frustrations of finding up-to-date schedule information.

That first-hand experience is the foundation of everything I write on this site. When I describe the Parabat Express route through the Sylhet haor wetlands or explain why the left-side window seat gives better river views on the Dhaka–Chittagong corridor, those are observations from my own journeys — not content assembled from other websites.

Why I Built This Site (কেন এই সাইট তৈরি করলাম)

The problem I kept running into: finding Bangladesh Railway schedule data online was harder than it should be. Official sources exist but they are not optimised for quick lookup. Third-party apps and sites were often outdated, lacked bilingual content, or mixed unofficial data with official data without any way to tell the difference.

As a software developer, I knew I could solve this. I combined my technical skills with my first-hand railway knowledge to build a site that is:
