Turna Express (Train No. 741) is Bangladesh Railway's premier night express on the Dhaka–Chittagong corridor. Departing Dhaka (Kamalapur) in the evening, it arrives in Chittagong in the early hours of the next day, making it the favoured choice for travellers who want to sleep through the journey and arrive fresh. The name "Turna" is a Bengali adaptation of the word "swift," reflecting the train's reputation for being one of the faster services on the corridor. Turna Express offers Snigdha (AC chair), AC Berth, and Shovan Chair classes. The AC Berth option is particularly popular with business executives, government officials, and long-distance travellers who want to arrive rested. Unlike day services, the Turna runs with fewer stops and at higher average speeds on certain segments, living up to its name. It is one of the few Bangladesh Railway intercity trains where sleeping facilities (AC Berth with proper bedding) make an overnight journey genuinely restful.

Turna Nishitha (Night Turna) was introduced to complement the daytime Subarna Express on the Dhaka–Chittagong corridor, addressing demand for an overnight service. The name and concept drew inspiration from the idea of swift overnight transit — allowing Bangladeshi business and government travellers to use their daytime hours productively in Dhaka and still reach Chittagong by morning. Over time, Turna Express became the benchmark for Bangladesh Railway's overnight intercity operations, influencing how subsequent overnight services were designed and marketed.
