Sundarban Express (Train No. 759) is the most important intercity train on the Dhaka–Khulna corridor, named after the Sundarbans — the world's largest mangrove forest and a UNESCO World Heritage Site that lies at the southern tip of Khulna division. Running a distance of approximately 390 kilometres, this train connects Dhaka's capital region with southwestern Bangladesh, a zone that includes Khulna city, Jessore, and the gateway to the Sundarbans ecosystem. The journey is one of the longest regular intercity routes in Bangladesh and offers passengers a vivid cross-section of the country's geography — from the urban density of Dhaka through the Padma riverine plains, across the fertile southwest deltaic landscape, toward the mangrove horizon. Sundarban Express offers Snigdha, AC Berth, and Shovan Chair classes.

Sundarban Express was introduced on the Dhaka–Khulna corridor to provide a premium intercity service to southwestern Bangladesh, a region historically underserved by the rail network compared to the Chittagong and Sylhet corridors. Named deliberately after Bangladesh's most famous natural heritage site, the train serves as both a practical transport link and a symbol of the southwest's identity. The Khulna–Dhaka rail route traverses the Padma riverine zone and the vast alluvial plains of the Ganges delta, offering some of the most characteristic views of rural Bangladesh visible from any train window in the country.
