About Rocky Mountaineer — Canada

The Rocky Mountaineer is Canada's premier luxury scenic railway experience, offering multi-day journeys through the spectacular Canadian Rocky Mountains. Operating exclusively in daylight so passengers never miss a moment of scenery, the Rocky Mountaineer has been named the "World's Leading Travel Experience by Train" by the World Travel Awards multiple times.

The train operates several routes: First Passage to the West (Vancouver-Banff/Lake Louise), Journey through the Clouds (Vancouver-Jasper), Rainforest to Gold Rush (Vancouver-Jasper via Whistler), and a US route Rockies to the Red Rocks (Denver-Moab). Each route showcases different aspects of the Rocky Mountains — from glacier-fed rivers and soaring peaks to deep canyons and pristine forests.

Two service levels are available: SilverLeaf (single-level dome windows, meals at seat) and GoldLeaf (bi-level dome coach with panoramic glass ceiling, outdoor viewing platform, and gourmet dining in a separate dining room below). GoldLeaf passengers enjoy the stunning GoldLeaf dome — an all-glass upper level offering 360-degree views of the Rockies.

Since the train only runs during daylight hours, overnight stops are at hotels in Kamloops or Quesnel, with the journey continuing the next morning.
