Bangladesh Railway has officially announced the advance ticket sale schedule for Eid-ul-Adha 2026, which is expected to fall on June 7-8 this year. The announcement was made by the Director General of Bangladesh Railway at a press conference held at Rail Bhaban, Dhaka on March 4, 2026. This year, the railway authority has planned a comprehensive ticketing strategy to minimize overcrowding and ensure a smoother travel experience for millions of homebound passengers.

Online e-tickets through the official portal eticket.railway.gov.bd will go on sale starting June 1, 2026, at 8:00 AM. Passengers can purchase up to four tickets per national ID card for any intercity train departing between June 4 and June 10. The e-ticket system has been upgraded this year with improved server capacity to handle the expected surge in traffic, which last year saw over 2.5 million login attempts within the first hour of sales opening. Mobile app users of the Rail Sheba app will also be able to purchase tickets simultaneously.

Counter ticket sales at major railway stations including Kamalapur, Airport, Chittagong, Sylhet, Rajshahi, and Khulna will commence on June 3, 2026. Each passenger must present their national ID card and can purchase a maximum of four tickets. Bangladesh Railway will deploy additional temporary counters at Kamalapur station and has arranged extra police personnel for crowd management. Special Eid trains will also be added on the Dhaka-Chittagong, Dhaka-Sylhet, Dhaka-Rajshahi, and Dhaka-Khulna corridors, with the detailed schedule to be published by May 25.
