About This Journey
The Bergen Railway (Bergensbanen) is one of Europe's most scenic mainline railways, connecting Norway's two largest cities — Oslo and Bergen — in approximately 7 hours. The 496-kilometer route crosses the Hardangervidda mountain plateau, the largest high mountain plateau in Northern Europe, reaching its highest point at Finse (1,222m).
The journey passes through dramatic glacier-carved valleys, past frozen lakes and snow-capped peaks, through quaint mountain villages, and ends in the colorful harbor city of Bergen. At Myrdal station, you can connect to the famous Flåm Railway.
